For the past couple of years, METRO has offered a workshop on "Grant Writing for Digitization and Preservation Projects." This year is no exception, and we're excited to announce that this year's workshop will include new content and resources for the 2011 "Grant Season, "which typically runs February 1 through July 1.
The full-day workshop focuses on preparing and writing grants for digitization and/or preservation projects. Since most digitization and preservation grants are funded through the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the session is based upon those particular granting entities' requirements. Tom Clareson will discuss matching your institution's project with the appropriate funding agency and preparing to write a proposal. Developing proposals for state, local and foundation funding sources will also be addressed. The majority of the day will be spent covering the elements of a grant proposal and practicing writing and reviewing those elements.
By the end of this program, participants will:
• Understand how to establish a grants program
• Plan the grant proposal process including proposal writing, grant review, and grant management
• Develop the elements of a grant proposal
• Match projects to funding sources
Please join us on December 16 for this valuable workshop. Additional information and registration details are available here: http://bit.ly/cd9ZHB.
